FTB Volunteer Opportunity

The FTB has a new self-service and is asking the tax professional community for assistance validating . This self-service allows taxpayers and tax professionals the ability to submit an application for Innocent Joint Filer relief electronically through MyFTB . The goal is to validate the functionality of the new service with a limited number of customers prior to full implementation .

Tax professionals with a MyFTB who need to submit a request for Innocent Joint Filer relief , and would like to assist us , can submit a request by emailing Tracy Crone at tracy . crone @ ftb . ca . gov by Nov . 15 with the following information :

• Subject line : Volunteer New Self-Service

• Your name

• Your contact phone number

• Taxpayer name

• Taxpayer Social Security Number Please note that not all volunteers will be chosen to assist in this effort . We will notify you either way . Those chosen will be supported in using the new service and will have expedited processing of their application .
